• Review and understand Architectural drawings and Blueprints.
• Identify scope of work, review specifications and addendums for prospective projects.
• Do material take-offs, prepare documents - request for quote (RFQs) for up-to-date pricing from suppliers, estimate sheet and Bid proposals for the assigned projects and submit bids to clients honoring their submission timeline.
• Send request for price quotes, track and work/purchase orders for all material procurement.
• Collaborate with staff and glazier team and provide needful guidance as required.
• Review and make changes to estimates as per post-tender addendums and answer queries from and/or provide requested documentation to clients/contractors.
• Obtain and track subcontract bids and negotiate budgets.
• Track and maintain job/project documents, job schedules and keep their status up to date.
• Attend project meetings, client meetings, senior management and other meetings whenever required.
• Manage current and future projects and track job progress and changes to alert operations management to delays, issues etc.
• Process submittals and project approvals.
• Liaise with clients, build relationships with various stakeholders.
• Prepare shop drawings for the awarded projects as needed.
• Maintain record of and provide all documents to company that are associated internally or externally with company/clients/contractors/suppliers/others etc.

Qualifications

• Mandatory experience with below framing systems from multiple North American suppliers like OldCastle, Alumicor, US Aluminum, Kawneer etc.
  • Window, Doors, Curtain Wall, Storefront, Framing, Skylight, Canopy, Hand Railings, Shower Doors, Mirrors etc.
• Exceptional teamwork and communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Hands-on experience with flow charts, spreadsheets, technical documents (blueprints/specs).
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Experienced professional, preferably within large-scale commercial glazing projects.
• Solid organizational and time management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Estimating Software tools, and General Computer skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Progressive, quick learner with strong mental ability.
• Great sales skills.
• Solid knowledge of AutoCAD and other Architectural and Drawing tools.

Education

• 1/2/3+ years Apprentice, Journeyman.
• Graduate/Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in relevant field.

Working Conditions

• This position requires the employee to work in a fast-paced office environment and may require multiple site visits for projects.
• The candidate must be honest and respectful as we have a zero-tolerance behavior policy.
• The candidate must be able to sit, stand for extended periods of time, possess a valid driver’s permit and the ability to work odd/extra hours to accommodate project deadlines.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires high levels of mental acuity, keyboarding skills, ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time, occasional exposure to inclement weather may be required.
• Project estimating experience within $10,000 to $70,000,000 project scopes.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8-hour a day shift or as mutually agreed with the employer.
• May need to work off-shift if required to meet critical project deadlines.

Experience

• Commercial Glazing Estimation: 2+ years (Required)
• Project Management: 1+ years (Preferred)

License/Certification

• Driver’s License (required)
• WCB (is a plus)
• Health & Safety Certifications (is a plus)

Work Location

• In office, and on Client site as required.

• Measure and cut glass, aluminum and other metals.
• Assemble and install aluminum/metal frames, glass and other associated hardware.
• Knowledge on how to handle/carry glass properly with delicacy.
• Responsible to take adequate measures to ensure safety and security all time.
• Responsible for handling tools and materials on site and in the shop.
• Create positive work environment.
• Operate site equipment such as Shaw, Forklift, CNC Computerized (nice to have).
• Load and unload materials and supplies.
• Inspect systems for quality control.
• Adhere to all site safety security standards and requirements.
• Willing to perform other relevant duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Red Seal Glazier (Preferred), or 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year Glazing Apprentices
• Ability to read shop drawing and Architectural Drawings.
• Ability to use all hand tools professionally.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Ability to work alone or with a team in collaboration.
• Ability to commute/relocate reliably to the office and customer site using own transportation.
• Possesses 3+ year of commercial experience in Aluminum & Glass Glazing fabrication and installation (Required).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Progressive, quick learner with strong mental ability.
• Valid Class five (5) driver’s license. (Required)
• Required - WCB, WHMIS, Preferred - Fall Protection certificate.
• Must have own tools, safety equipment, a vehicle.
• Certifications - WCB, WHMIS, Fall Protection, Forklift

Education

• 1/2/3+ years Apprentice, Journeyman.
• Graduate/Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in relevant field.

Other Requirements & Working Conditions

• Job Types: Fixed term contract may convert to full-time based on performance.
• Job Length: 12 months (Part-Time) / Permanent (Full-Time)
• Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per Hour
• Travel: Willing to travel 75% or as required
• Work Location: In-office and on customer site.
• Expected hours: 40 per week
• Job Schedule: Monday to Friday, Weekends only if critically needed
